Key Stage 4

Our focus at Key Stage 4 is to provide a Curriculum for students which will provide them with the qualifications and experiences they need to progress onto a wide range of further study, employment and/or training destinations.

All our Key Stage 4 students study a core GCSE Curriculum of English, Mathematics, Science, either Geography or History, and a Modern Foreign Language as well as non-examination courses in PE and SEE (Social and Ethical Education).  In addition, students are able to choose from a wide range of option subjects.

Teaching for all GCSE courses begins during Year 9 and, by and large, students will remain in the same groupings thereafter.

In addition to the core GCSE programme all students will study 2 further GCSE courses which they finalise at the end of Year 9.  Full details of the Options Process and Programme can be found on the website.

Current Option subjects;

Art and Design, Art and Design (Textiles), Business Studies, Computer Science, Creative iMedia, Drama, Food and Nutrition, French, Geography, German, History, Media Studies, Music, Physical Education, RE (Philosophy & Ethics), Resistant Materials Technology, Spanish and Sport (BTEC).

In preparation for Post 16 progression we provide all students and parents with a comprehensive programme of careers and Post 16 options advice.
